 Photography offers me a medium to tell stories about and with people. It is a way to disclose my perspective just as well as theirs. The picture says: that is it, it is here, it is exactly that and nothing else. Situations and subtly issues can therefore be conveyed simultaneously. Doing photography offers a way to show my subjective and emotional involvement in situations. That is why it can be very reflective. The picture can show the way I saw it, I felt it, I perceived it. In a picture, you do not only see the picture but also the view of the photographer. In the combination with text, it may show contradictions. And these challenge the reader/viewer to compare what he/she reads and sees, i.e. it is targeted on the intersubjective experience of interpretation which can lead to different ways of understanding."
